Dr. Andrew Yellen is a licensed psychologist specializing in clinical, industrial and sports psychology. He has lectured nationally and internationally on various topics including Industrial and Organizational psychology seminars to hospital staffs and insurance companies.
Before becoming a clinical and sports psychologist, Dr. Yellen earned both Bachelors and Masters degrees from California State University, Northridge in Physical Education and taught in the Los Angeles Unified School District at the high school level for over 19 years. While in public school education he earned a California Standard Teaching Credential, California Community College Teaching Credential, and a California School Administration Credential. In addition to teaching he served as the Head Football and Head Swimming Coach at Grant High School in Southern California for 15 years.
Dr. Yellen is a Fellow and Diplomate of Prescribing Psychologists’ Register, The International College of Prescribing Psychologists and the American Board of Medical Psychotherapists. He holds professional memberships in organizations such as the California, Los Angeles County and San Fernando Valley Psychological Associations, National Board of Addiction Examiners, International Irlen Diagnosticians, the National Institute of Sports Professionals and the Association for the Advancement of Applied Sports Psychology. Dr. Yellen also holds a Certificate of Proficiency in Substance Abuse, and has worked closely with organizations designing crisis and substance abuse intervention models.
Dr. Yellen has been interviewed on local radio stations such as KFWB, KRTH local television news programs on NBC, CBS, ABC, KTLA, KCAL. He has been featured nationally on programs such as “Extra”, “NBC Nightly News” and “Access Hollywood” as well having numerous articles written about his work in news papers such the Los Angeles Times, The Daily News, USA Today. Dr. Yellen has lectured at various academic institutions such as CSU, Northridge, UC San Diego, University of La Verne, Loyola Marymount University and Chapman University.
